More customers
How do I get more customers for my business?
Short answer
You get more customers by improving five things together: being found by people who need your service, convincing them on your website, making it easy to get in touch, following up enquiries quickly and well, and measuring which source leads to sales. Improving the last three often delivers more than adding visitors.
1. Be found by the right people
A page per service that ranks on Google, a complete Google Business Profile with reviews and, where needed, ads on keywords with buying intent. A hundred visitors looking for what you do beat a thousand passing by.
2. Convince
Show what you have made, for whom and with what result. Explain what your price depends on, your service area and your lead time. Uncertainty is the main reason visitors leave.
3. Make contact easy
A short form, a clickable phone number and, where it fits, WhatsApp. Ask only for what you need to respond the first time.
4. Follow up fast
An enquiry answered days later has often already gone to a competitor. Agree on a fixed response time and keep track of which enquiries are still open.
5. Measure what works
Record for every enquiry where it came from and whether it became a sale. Then you see which channels bring customers, not just visitors, and know where your next euro does the most.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I start if I have little time?
With follow-up and measurement: they cost little and show where you are losing customers. Then with the pages for your main services.
Does social media help get more customers?
For visibility and trust, often yes. For business services with a specific need, search engines and referrals are usually more direct.

More questions about more customers
- What is a landing page?A landing page is a web page with one goal, such as a quote request, that visitors reach from an ad, email or search.
- What is SEO?SEO stands for search engine optimisation.
- How do I rank higher on Google? You rank higher on Google by creating a page per service that answers the search query better than the pages currently at the top, by getting the technical basics right and by being visibly trustworthy, with a complete Google Business Profile and links from relevant websites.
- Why is my website not showing up on Google? It is usually one of six causes: the site has not been indexed yet, a setting blocks Google (such as 'noindex' or robots.txt), there is no dedicated page for what you want to be found for, the content is too thin, the domain is still young, or you are searching for a term with much stronger competitors.
